Happiness in the Dislike

I'd like us to all start measuring our happiness in the things we dislike as much as the things we love: the things that make us sigh as much as the ones that make us smile.

That grocery store trip, the one where you're already overworked but still drive the five miles in the traffic and rain means you have enough money to put food on the table and gas in the car.

Cleaning the crumbs from your carpet and bedspread only means you have a home or apartment to live in, and bedding to keep you warm on the chilliest of nights.

The coffee you spill on your blouse in the morning or the toast you burn a bit too long is a reminder that you have the time to do something little for yourself: a cup of warm coffee, a piece of jelly toast. You have a job that put you in a rush, have a family that nags for food, have a pet that begs for his breakfast, too.

The headphones you ruined in the washing mean? At least your clothes are still clean.

Would love for others to add their moments of dislike.

Stay loving, stay kind.
